Overlooking the iconic Duranbah Beach (D’Bah) on the Gold Coast is Barefoot Bowls, a retro caravan café serving up LOMA specialty coffee with acai bowls, smoothies and toasties, - all with a side of sunrise and surf.

This isn’t just another beachside coffee van. It’s a well-loved local ritual, a favourite stop for surfers, and a hub of community powered by good vibes and better coffee.

A Local Dream Turned Coffee Caravan

Barefoot Bowls Co. was founded by Tamara and Nic, a couple with a deep love for coastal living, connection, and their passion for coffee and Açai bowls. It all began over 3.5 years ago, when Tamara was making acai bowls at home just for the joy of it - until her brother said, “You need to make a business out of this.” - And so she did.

Together, Tam and Nic brought the dream to life in a stylish retro caravan, turning homemade passion into a full-blown community café parked right above the D’Bah breakwall.

Surfer’s Coffee Spot with Sunrise Vibes

Ask any D’Bah local, and they’ll tell you: Barefoot Bowls is part of the morning routine. Every day, surfers swing by for a pre- or post-surf coffee, a fresh bowl, and a friendly chat with Tam or Nic. Nic says it’s the sunrise that gets him out of bed each morning.

It’s their care - the conversation and the connection - that makes people come back every day.
