Loma is the shared vision of Dan and Nikki - who’ve already left their mark on Australia’s café culture. After turning the iconic Bay Leaf Café in Byron Bay into a beloved community hub, they saw an opportunity to connect hospitality and specialty coffee.

This is Loma: Roast + Life.

Loma is an invitation for lovers of coffee and lovers of life. We’re drawn to good humans — people who value quality, fairness, and fun. Those with a zest for life, a brew in hand, and a smile on their face.

Staying connected to our community and the passions of those around us has always been at the heart of what we do. Loma is about sharing specialty coffee and creating memorable moments together.

We’re committed to sourcing coffee that’s ethical, sustainable, and full of character — and we work closely with our partners to elevate the café experience as true custodians of the craft.

Founder

Dan has spent decades in hospitality and is a passionate advocate for great venues, great service and a great brew.

Dan’s vision for Loma is grand yet grounded. Dedicated to elevating the coffee experience for Australians by bringing quality products, craftsmanship and an inclusive vibe to communities and friends. Always with the perfect brew in hand.

Nikki

Founder

Nikki also spent years in the Melbourne café scene - running cafes & finding a passion for the craft of specialty coffee.

Falling in love with the connection to customers, building communities and warming friendships over quality brews led to her vision for creating something of her own. her inimitable energy and spirit for community is the heartbeat of Loma.

Kyle

General Manager

With decades of experience in the café world as a supplier and account manager for premium brands, Kyle has a deep respect for café owners and operators.

He’s also developed over the years a passion for the perfect roast and is constantly working to make every batch of Loma the best. Assessing samples from every roast multiple times over their production, quality control is in the hands and senses of a committed craftsman.

Our farm partners

We work closely with South American Bean (SAB) and their seven dedicated farmers in southern Huila, Colombia - one of the world’s premier regions for specialty coffee. The rich soils of Acevedo, San Adolfo, Palestina, and Guacacallo offer exceptional coffee growing conditions and the generational care these farming families take on their land and with their produce is second to none.

What sets our partner farmers apart is their passion for coffee and dedication to quality. Their openness to innovation helps us deliver a premium product while caring for the land with true custodianship. These shared values are the foundation of lasting relationships built on trust and mutual growth.

Our approach to roasting matches our approach to life - it’s all about care. Ethically sourcing the highest quality beans - grown & harvested with care for the product, the environment and the people who do the work.

We believe our ethical & sustainable craftmanship makes the difference.

We’ll be bringing you three premium blended roasts for espresso lovers, two single origin filter coffees in seasonal windows, and one small batch roast.
